SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Dept. of Health reported 954 cases of COVID-19 Thursday, but not all of them are new cases.
The large number of case counts need an explanation, State Epidemiologist Angela Dunn said. "I need to provide a lot of context to these numbers," she said, explaining that results of antigen testing have been added. "We've been reviewing the antigen case results for accuracy."
An electronic delay in reporting some data also means that a lot of cases reported Thursday are from a few days ago.
One new death was reported Thursday, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 234.
The rolling seven-day average now stands at 619 new cases per day.
199 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in Utah. That's down five from Wednesday.
