Utah reports 1,968 new COVID-19 cases; 7 new deaths

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health reported 1,968 additional cases of COVID-19 and seven more deaths on Monday.

That brought the seven-day running average of new cases per day in Utah to 2,598 and the percent of positive lab tests moved to 24.07 percent.

There are currently 572 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Utah.

The additional deaths reported Wednesday moved the state's death toll to 1,062.

  • Male, between 45-64, Iron County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, older than 85, Tooele County residents, hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 65-84, Utah County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 45-64, Wasatch County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Female, between 45-64, Washington County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Washington County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
