Utah Dept. of Health reports 2,160 new COVID-19 cases Monday; 4 new deaths

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health reported 2,160 new cases of COVID-19 Monday and an additional four deaths.

The rolling seven-day average of new cases per day in Utah is 2,716 and the percent of positive tests is at 30.8 percent.

There are currently 484 people hospitalized in Utah with COVID-19.

As of Monday, 48,575 vaccines have been administered as part of Utah's Phase 1 distribution plan.

The newly-reported deaths bring the state's death toll to 1,219, which include:

  • Female, older than 85, Washington County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Male, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, older than 85, Washington County resident, hospitalized at time of death
