Utah Department of Health reports four new deaths in latest COVID-19 numbers

The Utah Department of Health has released the latest COVID-19 numbers for the state.

As of Saturday afternoon, there are 8,260 lab-confirmed cases; an increase of 203 new cases since Friday.

Approximately 3,945 additional people have been tested, bringing the statewide total to 190,779.

676 people have been hospitalized in connection to the virus since March. There are currently 108 people hospitalized.

Four new deaths have been reported, bringing the statewide total to 97.

Those deaths include a man from Utah County between the age of 65 and 84.

The other three were women from Salt Lake County. One was older than 85, and a resident at a long-term care facility. The other two were between the ages of 65 and 84, and one of them was also a resident of a long-term care facility.

Approximately 4,898 cases are considered to be recovered.

The Utah Department of Health is not expected to hold a press conference today to discuss these new numbers
