SALT LAKE CITY — Utah is seeing a long-awaited streak of positive news about the spread of COVID-19 and the distribution of vaccine.
For the second week in a row, cases were down more than 20 percent for the seven days ending on Feb. 1.

The trend holds in most of the state, with just 5 counties seeing more cases week over week. Those counties are Beaver, Carbon, Emery, Rich, and Uintah.
Utah's vaccination numbers are consistent across most regions with two exceptions: Utah County lags other large counties in terms of doses-per-capita.
San Juan County has provided significantly more shots than any other due to receiving resources to combat high case and death rates on the Navajo reservation.
