SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health reported 796 new COVID-19 cases Sunday and two new deaths.
While cases numbers appear low, it is most likely due to lower amounts of testing over the Christmas holiday.
Utah's rolling seven-day average for positive tests now stands at 1,980 per day, with the rolling seven-day average for the percent of positive tests is 24.3 percent.
As of Sunday, 474 people in Utah are currently hospitalized with the coronavirus.
Utah's COVID-19 death toll now stands at 1,214
