Seven more people have died of COVID-19 in Utah as 1,200 new cases reported Sunday

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health reported 1,200 new COVID-19 cases in Utah Sunday and seven additional deaths.

The seven-day rolling average for positive tests is 1,161 per day. The rolling seven-day average for percent of positive laboratory tests is 13.9 percent.

There are 254 people currently hospitalized in Utah with COVID-19, up 31 from Saturday. Statewide, 67.4 percent of ICU beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients and patients with other health issues.

The seven additional deaths reported Sunday span five counties and bring the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 517.
