SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department confirmed Monday that 25 of its officers are currently in quarantine due to having COVID-19 or being near those who have been infected with the virus.

Police spokesperson Sgt. Keith Horrocks said 15 of the quarantined officers have tested positive for COVID-19. They will need to record a negative test before being allowed to return to work.

The 25 officers in quarantine are out of 500-plus on the police force.

There is no word on the condition of the officers or how long they have been under quarantine.
