OGDEN, Utah — Fall convocation ceremonies at Weber State University have been canceled due to concerns over the pandemic.

The graduation ceremonies were scheduled for Dec. 10 and 11.

In an email to students and faculty, University President Brad Mortensen expressed his disappointment in having to call off a ceremony that many students hold in such high regard.

“Many of us consider commencement the most important event we hold on campus. I know this news is disappointing to us all, but especially our students who were looking forward to celebrating this incredible milestone at the end of this semester,” Mortensen said. “We know their families and loved ones share in the disappointment.”

Students who are scheduled to graduate at the end of the fall semester will be invited to return for a future graduation ceremony.
