Nearly 3,000 new COVID-19 cases and nine new deaths in Saturday's report from Utah Department of Health

The Utah Department of Health is reporting more than 400 current hospitalizations and nine new deaths in Saturday's COVID-19 case count.

New Cases
2,956 new cases have been reported, bringing the statewide total of COVID-19 cases to 130,235 since March.

Testing
12,680 additional tests have been performed since Friday's report. 1,149,506 people in Utah have now been tested.
The rolling seven-day average of positive tests is now 2,213, or approximately 19.9% of those tested.

Hospitalizations
410 people are currently hospitalized. There have been 6,020 hospitalizations since the beginning of the pandemic.

Deaths
Nine new deaths have been reported, bringing Utah's fatality total to 658.
The newly reported deaths include:

  • Male, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 65-84, Davis County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Juab County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Male, between 65-84, Davis County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Male, older than 85, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
