More than 4,000 new COVID-19 cases after artificially high report from Utah Department of Health adjusted

Note: Saturday's report from the Utah Department of Health appears artificially high, after Friday's report was artificially low due to technical difficulties. The impacted areas of Saturday's report include cases and tests reported.

New Cases
An additional 5,352 new COVID-19 cases have been reported, bringing the statewide total to 151,141. The UDOH estimates that 1,300 of cases listed in Saturday's report would have been included in Friday's artificially low report, for an adjusted daily count of 4,052 new cases.

Testing
17,544 additional tests have been conducted, for a statewide total of 1,234,250 tests since March. The latest seven-day average of positive tests is 2,957, or approximately 23.6% of those tested.

Hospitalizations
487 people are currently hospitalized. To date, 6,676 people have been hospitalized in Utah since the pandemic began.

Deaths
Nine new deaths have been reported, for a total of 710 total deaths since March. The newly reported deaths include:

  • Male, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized
  • Male, between 25-44, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Davis County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Davis County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Washington County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Tooele County resident, not hospitalized
  • Female, between 65-84, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 65-84, Washington County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Summit County resident, long-term care facility resident
