More than 1,500 new COVID-19 cases, 13 new deaths in Utah reported on Sunday

New Cases
1,516 new cases have been reported since Saturday. That brings the statewide total to 336,405.

Testing
1,965,485 people have been tested for COVID-19 in Utah. That is an increase of 7,331 new tests.
The rolling seven-day average of positive cases is now 1,794, or roughly 19.4% of those tested.

Hospitalizations
461 people are currently hospitalized. 13,016 people have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.

Deaths
13 new deaths have been reported, including four that happened in 2020. The Office of the Medical Examiner conducts thorough investigations of all potential COVID-related deaths, these investigations can take several weeks to complete. The newly reported deaths include:

  • Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Male, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Male, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 65-84, Uintah County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 25-44, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Male, between 65-84, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, older than 85, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Male, between 65-84, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 65-84, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Washington County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Female, older than 85, Washington County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Weber County resident, not hospitalized at time of death

Vaccinations
6,073 additional vaccines have been administered, for a total of 228,348.
