Kearns High School is latest team to forfeit playoff game because of COVID-19

KEARNS, Utah — Kearns High School is the latest football team forced to forfeit its playoff game because of rising COVID-19 cases on campus.

Ben Horsley of the Granite School District confirmed that positive cases at the school above the 15 case limit, with three cases on the football team.

The Cougars were slotted to face the winner of Friday's East-Clearfield game in the second round of the Class 6A championships.

Kearns joins Uintah High School and Fremont High School among teams who have had to forfeit their playoff games this season due to the virus.

Kearns finishes its season at 8-1.
