In Utah, COVID-19 is trending away from big cities

Utah is in a post-holiday surge in COVID-19 cases, with increases in all the state's biggest counties.

But looking more closely, the cities showing the highest case rates are not big urban centers.

The Millard County cities of Fillmore and Delta have the highest rate of cases per 100,000 residents. The two cities are combined as one of the Utah Department of Health's designated "small areas." The Juab County combinations of Nephi and Mona have the second-highest rates, followed by Park City, Spanish Fork and Herriman.
