Health Dept: 2,146 more COVID-19 cases in Utah; 26 additional deaths

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health's COVID-19 report for Tuesday shows an increase of 2,146 confirmed cases—bringing the state's total to 309,629—and 26 additional deaths.

So far, 1,843,113 people in Utah have been tested for the disease. The state's rolling seven-day average for the number of positive tests is 2,946 per day, and the seven-day average for the percent of positive tests is 29.3.

A total of 110,530 vaccines have now been administered in Utah.

560 people in Utah are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

1,422 people in Utah have died of COVID-19. The 26 deaths announced Tuesday are:

"15 of the 26 deaths being reported today occurred prior to Dec. 22, 2020. The Office of the Medical Examiner conducts thorough investigations of all potential COVID-related deaths, these investigations can take several weeks to complete," the Utah Department of Health noted in Tuesday's report.
