Health Dept.: 1,411 more COVID-19 cases in Utah; 17 additional deaths

The Utah Department of Health's COVID-19 report for Tuesday shows an increase of 1,411 confirmed cases—bringing the state's total to 338,675—and 17 additional deaths.

So far, 1,978,950 people in Utah have been tested for the disease. The state's rolling seven-day average for the number of positive tests is 1,778 per day, and the seven-day average for the percent of positive tests is 19.11.

A total of 237,637 vaccines have now been administered in Utah.

452 people in Utah are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

1,613 people in Utah have died of COVID-19. The 17 deaths announced Tuesday are:

  2. Female, between 65-84, Davis County resident, long-term care facility resident
  3. Female, between 65-84, Davis County resident, long-term care facility resident
  4. Female, between 65-84, Davis County resident, long-term care facility resident
  5. Female, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  6. Male, between 45-64, Washington County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
  7. Male, between 45-64, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
  8. Female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
  9. Male, older than 85, Morgan County resident, long-term care facility resident
  10. Male, between 65-84, Iron County resident, long-term care facility resident
  11. Male, between 65-84, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  12. Male, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death

"We will report 1,613 total deaths, this is an increase of 17 new deaths being reported with one that was reported on 1/23 being removed after further investigation indicated the deceased was a Nevada resident, male, older than 85, listed originally as a hospitalized Salt Lake County resident," UDOH noted in its report Tuesday. "Four of the newly reported deaths are cases that occurred in December, 2020."
