Former Utah State University professor dies after month-long battle with COVID-19

Utah State University has announced that former professor of civil engineering, L. Douglas James has died from complications from COVID-19.

In a news release, USU announced that the former director of the Utah Water Research Laboratory passed away Friday, April 3, at the age of 83.

According to James’ wife Zhida Song-James, she and her husband both contracted the virus while on a Nile River cruise. The couple was living in the Washington D.C area.
