SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah — A COVID-19 survivor who lost her father pleads with Utahns to follow the recommended guidelines so more people don’t die.
By Monday, 614 Utahns have died because of COVID-19.
Angie Hunter doesn’t know how her father got COVID-19 in September. But days later, she got it, too.
”I just felt horrible. I was down. I was down for about 8 or 9 days,” said Hunter, a former Unified Police officer and detective.
Seven days in, her father George went to the hospital and became critically ill. He passed on October 13.
"I will never be able to get those three weeks back that he was in the hospital. It was just stripped away from all of us. It’s a very cold, cold way to be,” Hunter said.
Hunters begs Utahns to socially distance, wear masks and wash hands regularly.
"You don’t understand what this means unless you lose someone close to you because of the virus,” said Hunter.
