Confirmed COVID-19 cases surpass 330K in Utah; 30 additional deaths announced Thursday

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health's COVID-19 report for Thursday shows an increase of 2,089 confirmed cases—bringing the state's total to 330,469—and 30 additional deaths.

So far, 1,935,579 people in Utah have been tested for the disease. The state's rolling seven-day average for the number of positive tests is 1,829 per day, and the seven-day average for the percent of positive tests is 19%.

A total of 193,777 vaccines have now been administered in Utah.

529 people in Utah are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

1,547 people in Utah have died of COVID-19. The 30 deaths announced Thursday are:

"3 of the 30 deaths being reported today occurred prior to December 31, 2020. The Office of the Medical Examiner conducts thorough investigations of all potential COVID-related deaths, these investigations can take several weeks to complete," UDOH noted in its report Thursday.
