484 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Utah, but no new deaths

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Dept. of Health reported 484 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday. That is a 2.6 percent daily increase since Tuesday and brings the total number of cases in the state to 18,784.

No new deaths were reported so the total remains at 163.

There have been 30 new hospitalizations since Tuesday's report and there are currently 167 COVID-19 patients in Utah hospitals. Since the outbreak began, 1,256 hospitalizations have been required in the state.

304,738 people have now been tested for COVID-19 in Utah. That's 2,462 more in the past 24 hours and the rate of positive results is 6.2 percent of the total number tested.

State Epidemiologist, Dr. Andrea Dunn, and Governor Gary Herbert will discuss the latest numbers and developments regarding the coronavirus in Utah at a 4 p.m. news conference. It will be live streamed on the FOX 13 webpage and app as well as our Facebook page.
