2,408 new COVID-19 cases reported by UDOH; report now includes vaccine distribution information

The COVID-19 case count from the Utah Department of Health is now including new information on vaccine distribution, as listed below.

New Cases
2,408 new cases have been reported, for a total of 248,970 since March.

Testing
10,101 new tests have been conducted since Friday's report. 1,633,896 tests have been administered since the pandemic began.
The rolling seven-day average of positive tests in Utah is now 2,454 per day, or roughly 22.1% of those tested.

Hospitalizations
559 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19. 9,968 people have been hospitalized since March.

Deaths
8 new deaths have been reported, bringing Utah's total deaths to 1,148. The newly reported deaths include

  • Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 65-84, Box Elder County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, older than 85, Utah County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 45-64, Davis County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Female, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death

Vaccines
The Utah Department of Health is reporting that 23,400 vaccines have been shipped, and 3,648 have been administered.
Utah is currently in Phase 1 of vaccine distribution, for those who work in high-risk environments.
