QUEBEC — A Canadian couple thought they found a loophole in curfew rules by having the wife "walk" her husband while he was wearing a leash.
On Saturday, officials in Canada began a new curfew running from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. due to a recent COVID-19 surge. Police in the province of Quebec saw the couple walking in the city of Sherbrooke around 9:00 p.m. local time, about an hour past the start of curfew.
When questioned by police, the couple said they were following the rules that allows people to break curfew to walk pets near their homes, the BBC reports.
Unfortunately for the couple, the police were having none of their excuse and fined both of them over $1,200 each.
According to the report, police in Quebec issued 750 tickets for violating curfew the first weekend it was in effect.
