Ingredients
For the Bread
- 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled and finely chopped
- ½ tsp. kosher salt
- 1 ½ tsp. baking powder
- 1 ½ c. flour
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1 c. brown sugar
- ¼ c. sugar
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp. vanilla
- ½ c. milk
For the Glaze
- 1 tbsp. butter, melted
- ½ c. powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp. milk
- ½ tsp. vanilla
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350.
- Spray a 9x5 inch loaf pan with non-stick spray, and then line it over the long sides and bottom with a piece of parchment paper to make it easy to remove from the pan later.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the salt, baking powder, and flour.
- In another mixing bowl, using a hand mixer mix the butter with the two sugars and cinnamon until creamy.
- Mix in the eggs one at a time. Once combined, mix in the milk, apples, and vanilla.
- Add half of the flour mixture to the milk mixture and mix until combined. Add the rest of the flour mixture and mix to combine.
- Put the batter in the pan and even out with a spatula. Place in the oven and bake 50-55 or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then carefully remove the loaf from the pan and cool on a wire rack.
- As the loaf cools, make the glaze by whisking together the melted butter, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in a bowl until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the loaf, slice and enjoy!
