Fox 13 is excited about a new partnership with Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah - 'Healthier Together.'
"Every week we will bring tips and information about healthier living. We also bring interesting insights on our community partners," said Jim Swayze, President of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah.
Swayze said right now a lot of people wonder if it is safe to see their caregiver or visit an emergency room. Regence, and other insurance and healthcare organizations across the country are concerned that due to fear of COVID-19, patients are putting off seeking care, even when they really need it.
Swayze says Regence is enhancing technology and providing patients more access to telehealth, which has seen a significant increase in use. "In all of 2019, Regence BlueCross BlueShield had about 25 thousand virtual visits. So far this year, they've had more than 230 thousand," Swayze said.
Swayze believes the use of services will only continue to grow, and for good reason.
"If you can have an interaction like this it's safer, it's secure. It helps slow the spread, all the things we want to do."
