  • Ozone study to show Great Salt Lake’s impact on Utahns’ health

    SALT LAKE CITY – Scientists with the Utah Department of Environmental Quality have teamed up with researchers at several Utah universities in a study that detects smog-forming ozone. Another study which began in 2010 shows throughout the past several years the ozone levels around the Great Salt Lake are rising. This new study, funded by the 2014 Legislature, will deploy sensors near the Great Salt Lake to detect the smog, better determine the lake’s impact on the ozone and what causes those levels rise.   • Over 60,000 bees found in Ogden apartment complex

    OGDEN, Utah – An Ogden apartment complex was found with over 60,000 bees in its walls. Conna Mikesell, a resident of the Lake Park Apartments, said she noticed the bees when she first moved in over a year ago. “It is just extremely amazing that these honey bees have built these huge honeycombs under the shingles.   • Bountiful gets new Diverging Diamond Interchange

    BOUNTIFUL, Utah -The Utah Department of Transportation has finished work on a construction project to ease the flow of traffic in a busy part of Bountiful.   • Sheriff’s Office: Logan man admits to starting fire ‘because he hates churches’

    YOUNG WARD, Utah — Cache County deputies have arrested a man who they said started a fire inside a church, then called 911 to report it. According to a news release from the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Antonio Justin Rosa was able to enter a church in Young Ward by breaking a window. The statement said Rosa then started the fire in the kitchen and serving area before calling 911. Fire crews quickly arrived and to contained the fire. […]

    SALT LAKE CITY – Officials said a mother has died after her boyfriend allegedly ran over her with his car during an argument last month.     RIVERTON, Utah – A young man was taken to Intermountain Medical Center after rolling his car on the Mountain View Corridor Sunday night.      PROVO, Utah — Provo police have arrested an 18-year-old man who allegedly had nude pictures of minors on his cellphone. Carlos Manuel Felix was taken into custody after Provo High received several complaints from underage students that Felix had nude photos of them on his cell phone and that he was showing those to other, underage kids in the area.
