SALT LAKE CITY — Two small earthquakes rattled central Utah early Wednesday morning.
According to the Utah Seismograph Stations, a magnitude 3.1 quake struck just before 3:00 a.m. about ten miles east of the town of Mayfield in Sanpete County.
About an hour later, a magnitude 2.7 quake rattled the same area, a little over 13 miles east of Mayfield.
The largest town near Mayfield is Gunnison.
Earthquakes that small are never expected to cause any damage and can usually only be felt nearby if at all.
