Rep. Rob Bishop announces he will not run for governor

SALT LAKE CITY – Rep. Rob Bishop is not running for governor, he said on Monday.

He is declining to join a crowded field of gubernatorial candidates.

Rep. Bishop, instead, is offering his endorsement to candidate Thomas Wright, the former Utah Republican Party chairman.

Gov. Gary Herbert is not running for reelection.

Rep. Bishop has previously announced he is retiring from Congress.
