SALT LAKE CITY – A valiant member of the Utah Highway Patrol, Duke the K9, has died.
Duke served with the UHP for nine years, his service ending in 2016.
The UHP says Duke was responsible for detecting hundreds of pounds of illegal drugs during his time on the force.
Duke served under Capt. Steve Salas.
It is with the heavy heart that we report the loss of one of our beloved K9's, Duke. Duke was in service with UHP from 2007-2016 under Capt. Steve Salas.
