DIAMOND FORK CANYON, Utah -- A fire was reported burning in Diamond Fork Canyon just after 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff's Office tweeted that the fire was burning in the area of Diamond Fork, Diamond Campground and Wanrhodes.

A Utah County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team responded to the area to help evacuate any hunters or people with cabins in the area.

About 50 people were told to leave the canyon due the fire Sgt. Cannon said.

By 5 p.m., the fire was upgraded to about 300 acres and was moving up the canyon, and no structures were threatened.

"We don't have anybody that's critically threatened right now, but the problem is we don't know what the fire is gonna do exactly," Sgt. Cannon said. "Cause has not been determined yet, but it's entirely possible it was man caused."

Utah County Fire and other departments are fighting the fire.

Fox 13 viewer Michael McConkie sent the photos and video of the fire.
