SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department has reopened two major roads Wednesday afternoon after the discovery of a suspicious package and the evacuation of the Salt Lake City Facilities Service building.

The Utah National Guard said its 85th Civil Support Team supported SLCPD with the suspicious package, which was detonated around 4:00 p.m.

SLCPD said all evacuation orders have been lifted.

Police closed 300 East between 500 South to 700 South while 600 South was closed between 200 East to 400 East during the investigation.

Police said the closures were a precaution while they brought in the equipment needed to safely investigate the package.
