West Valley City to consider security upgrades for Maverik Center

WEST VALLEY CITY — The city council will decide whether to spend $90,000 to upgrade security measures at the Maverik Center.

The council is expected to approve a request next week to spend the money to replace metal and bomb detecting equipment at the entertainment venue. A staff memo sent to the council urges them to approve the request, stating it is necessary for public safety.
