WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah -- Three people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting after a man was found dead in a restaurant parking lot.

West Valley City Police arrested 18-year-old Hassan Al Rekabi and 19-year-old Samuel Niu Monday in connection with the death of 22-year-old Jake Gengelbach.

Police served a warrant on Rekabi's home Monday afternoon, and the man fled in a vehicle. Officers pursued and caught him in a nearby parking lot. Rekabi was booked into jail and faces charges of homicide and obstruction of justice.

Niu was also arrested on obstruction charges.

Police stated Tuesday they have arrested 21-year-old Bryan Zumaya-Garcia on an obstruction of justice charge after receiving multiple tips that he was present during the fatal shooting.

The investigation began Sunday around 1:40 a.m. when officers were dispatched to reports of shots fired at the Overlook Point Apartment Complex at 4612 South 2930 West.

Officers found nothing suspicious, but an officer checking a nearby business did.

The officer discovered the body of a man in the parking lot of the Hire's restaurant at 2900 West 4700 South.

The man had injuries consistent with gunshot wounds and there were spent bullet casings on the ground.

The victim was identified as Gengelbach.

Investigators are expected to release more information including what led to Monday's arrest.

They had said they have very little to go on in this case and had asked for information about the shooting.

"We're looking for anybody that has any information, video or if they heard or saw a car they can call 801-840-4000," Lt. Justin Wyckoff with the West Valley City Police Department said. "They can give tips or information anonymously and we would really appreciate some help on this."
