SANDY, Utah — Corner Canyon High School students attended a very different type of senior prom Thursday night - one with senior citizens!

The Roaring 20s-themed affair was the first prom for many of the seniors living in Cedarwood at Sandy, a senior living center.

Students from the school Pure Leadership Team showed up early to decorate the senior living center. They set up a photo booth and dance floor, and passed out boas, sequined headbands and pearl necklaces to residents.

The entire area was filled with glitz and glamour, as senior citizens began to file in.

"We really wanted to capture that Great Gatsby kind of vibe," said Corner Canyon high senior Corinne Tousley.

The event kicked off with 20s and oldies tunes, as everyone danced like they were the bee's knees.

Tousley and fellow senior Kiara Damico publicized the event at their school, and a whole group of students showed up ready to put on the Ritz.

Seniors, mixed with seniors. It wasn't about age on the dance floor-- it was about bringing your best moves.

"I'm just so excited to combine these communities," Damico said.

Tousley said it was a, "really great way to just bring generations together."

The older seniors of the prom agreed.

"That's a wonderful idea, because they generate so much energy," said Cedarwood resident and prom goer Virginia Quayle. "Makes us feel young again."

The Pure Leadership Team at Corner Canyon High teamed up with Cedarwood to plan the rip roarin' event.
