ROCK CANYON, Utah — Police received a call from a female hiker up Rock Canyon around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, the 20-year-old woman told police she had a coat, but no food or water.
Search and rescue teams hiked up to locate her, using the GPS coordinates from when she first called the police.
However, at 6:49 p.m., police received a phone call from the woman’s father, who told police she had made it home safely – an hour ago after she managed to get back down the trail on her own.
