SALT LAKE CITY -- Officials arrested a suspect Wednesday night after asking for the public's help Tuesday to find the person who hit a man on his bicycle.
Police arrested Sotero Valerio Torres, 36, Wednesday night.
Tot Van Nguyen, the victim, passed away Tuesday night after being critically injured in the accident. Salt Lake City police officials said the incident occurred at 1033 W. 400 S. at approximately 6:06 p.m.
Investigators said a white Nissan Versa from between 2014-2018 hit Nguyen and didn't stop. Police said the car should have obvious front-end damage.
"This is a hit and run," Hatch said. "The vehicle that struck the cyclist failed to stay at the scene. The last we know is just eastbound on 400 south continuing past 900 west.”
