Salt Lake City police identify victim of Saturday homicide

SALT LAKE CITY -- Officials with the Salt Lake City Police Department identified the victim of a homicide that occurred Saturday as 26-year-old Mason Hunt.

According to Detective Michael Ruff with the Salt Lake City Police Department, at 8:09 p.m. Saturday officers responded to the area Hunt, who had been killed.

Police said the incident occurred near 400 North Starcrest Dr.

Ruff stated that homicide detectives were working on the incident and would release updates as they become available.

Police stated that they were looking for a car that was stolen after the homicide. The vehicle was described as a silver 2007 Infinity M35, with Utah license plate W007VZ.

Anyone with information on the incident was asked to call Salt Lake City Police Dispatch at 801-799-3000.
