Woman ticketed after viral video of argument with school crossing guard

KAYSVILLE, Utah — Kaysville Police have issued a citation to a woman who was seen arguing with a school crossing guard about the right of way in Kaysville.

Police said they explained the reason for the citation to the woman, whom they did not identify for FOX 13.

In Utah, drivers are required to yield to all pedestrians, regardless of whether or not the pedestrian is using a crosswalk.

"A driver is required to yield to all pedestrians even if they are not in a marked or unmarked crosswalk," the handbook states. "At school crossings where there is a traffic patrol, stop and yield as signaled."
