PROVO, Utah — Shop classes at Timpview High School were evacuated due to a fire Tuesday but other classes remained in session.

Provo Fire and Rescue said they were called about the fire at 9:12 a.m. The school is located near 3570 North Timpview Drive.

The fire broke out in the dust collection system at the wood shop. Authorities say the wood and metal shop classes were evacuated.

According to Captain Dean York with the Provo City Fire Department, dispatchers received a 911 call saying that the wood shop was filling up with smoke.

Multiple agencies responded to the incident, York said.

The cause of the fire was not known, but investigators were looking into it, according to York.

There has not yet been an estimate on the cost of the damages, York said.

As of 10:13 a.m. firefighters say all other classes are proceeding as normal and no injuries have been reported.
