Clearfield Police ask for help locating four people after guns stolen from pawn shop

CLEARFIELD, Utah —Police in Clearfield are still looking for four males considered armed and dangerous after they say the group stole firearms from a pawn shop Wednesday afternoon.  Police said car the suspects fled in, a white Volkswagen Passata, was found last night.

According to a press release from the Clearfield Police Department, four males entered Instant Cash and Loan on 437 North Main Street in Clearfield around 3 p.m.

One male pawned a chainsaw while the other three looked at firearms on display in the store.

While an employee assisted the male making the chainsaw transaction, another male reached around the counter displaying handguns and took a handgun then concealed it on his person.

Police said a second man then grabbed a rifle and concealed it in his clothing.

The four men then fled the business and drove off.  Police identified the stolen firearms as a Bushmaster M4, .22-caliber rifle and a Springfield XDM .40-caliber handgun.

Clearfield Police have identified three of the four men and are asking for help locating all four. The suspects are considered armed and dangerous and the public should not approach them.

Police are looking for 19-year-old Alex Chavez and 18-year-old Gabriel Rivas, as well as an unidentified male and a juvenile whose name they are not releasing.

Chavez stands 6-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs 210 pounds. He has brown hair that may be shoulder-length.

Rivas is from Clearfield and stands 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Police provided an image of the male adult they have not yet identified.
