KAYSVILLE, Utah — Dominion Energy crews are working to identify the source of a natural gas leak in Kaysville.

According to Kaysville City’s website, the leak is in the area of Burton Ln. and Sunset Dr., and crews need to shut down the street to find and repair the leak.

Darren Shepherd with Dominion Energy said that at around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, residents reported smelling gas in the area.

When crews arrived to investigate the report, they found that a large concentration of methane and natural gas was collecting in a sewer.

Crews set up a vacuum system to get the gas out of the sewer, Shepherd said.

One house was evacuated from the gas leak.

As of 3:13 p.m. Tuesday, Shepherd said that crews were still working to locate the leak.
