DAVIS COUNTY, Utah - A man was killed, a passenger injured, and a passerby hurt in a rescue attempt after a crash early Sunday morning.

According to Sgt. Nick Street with the Utah Highway Patrol, the crash happened on northbound Legacy Parkway near mile marker one about 4:30 a.m.

Street said the driver of a red GMC Yukon with two passengers lost control trying to make a turn in to North Salt Lake, causing the vehicle to roll into the median.

24-year-old Ryan Cody Tso was partially ejected from the back seat and the vehicle rolled on top of him, Street said.

Someone who saw the crash, stopped and tried lifting the SUV off of Tso.

"We had a citizen trying to push a car off the top of the deceased person," Sgt. Street said. "They separated, dislocated their shoulder while they were attempting to do so, and they also had to go to the hospital to have that repaired."

No one was wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident, Street said.

The front passenger of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transferred to a local hospital.

Street said the driver of the car wasn't injured and arrested on-scene for suspicion of DUI.
