SALT LAKE CITY -- Did you know the Utah State Archives has a fine arts collection with over 1.8 million pieces and an estimated value of over $1.25 million dollars?

It's part of a massive collection that's been collecting dust in various locations since the Utah State Historical Society was organized in 1897.

The archive is currently housed in the Rio Grande Train Station Building, a stone's throw from the Road Home homeless shelter.

The state announced recently it would like to purchase for property for state offices, and maybe for archives.
