SALT LAKE CITY — Donovan Mitchell scored 38 points to lead the Utah Jazz to a 96-91 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder to advance to the Western Conference semifinals.

Mitchell joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only rookies in NBA history to score 20 points each in their first six playoff games.

Derrick Favors scored 13 points, including a big jumper with 1:08 to play in the fourth quarter to help the Jazz seal the win.

Rudy Gobert added 12 points and 13 rebounds. Joe Ingles also scored 12 points, and Alec Burks scored 11 points off the bench to help the Jazz after starting point guard Ricky Rubio went out in the first quarter with a strained hamstring.

Russell Westbrook had 46 points for the Thunder.

The Jazz will play the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals, which is scheduled for Sunday at 1:30 p.m. MDT.

This will mark the eighth time Utah has taken on Houston in the postseason, owning a 5-2 series record and 21-18 overall record against the Rockets.

The last time the two teams squared off was in 2008, with the Jazz taking the series 4-2 in the first round.
