Athletes from 26 countries to compete in Tour of Utah

LOGAN, Utah  -- The Tour of Utah is underway and continues through August 6.

The 2017 Tour of Utah, referred to as "America's Toughest Stage Race", will cover 605 miles of racing, which includes 36,525 feet of climbing.

According to a press release from event organizers, the tour has attracted 127 athletes from 26 countries among 16 professional men's teams. This is the Tour of Utah's 13th year in existence, but the race was elevated to an International Cycling Union stage race in 2011.

The various stages of the race are listed below, visit this page and click the applicable stage for specific details about the route and traffic advisories, which include some closures.

  • Stage 1 is Monday in Logan
  • Stage 2 is Tuesday and spans Brigham City to Snowbasin Resort
  • Stage 3 is Wednesday in Big Cottonwood Canyon
  • Stage 4 is Thursday in South Jordan City
  • Stage 5 is Friday and spans Layton to Bountiful
  • Stage 6 is Saturday and spans Heber Valley to Snowbird
  • Stage 7 is Sunday in Salt Lake City
