SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah -- Police from across Salt Lake County are looking for a serial bank robber, wanted for robbing five banks in four different cities in less than 24 hours.

Four of those robberies took place Saturday morning.

“I know a lot of the agencies around Salt Lake Valley are on guard right now watching their banks and looking out for this female,” said Lt. Brian Lohrke with the Unified Police Department.

It all began at the Chase Bank on Redwood Road in West Valley City Friday afternoon. A woman walked in, handed the teller a note demanding money, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

“It’s very brazen; she feels like she can get away with it,” Lohrke said.

However, this woman was just getting started.

Fast forward to Saturday morning. Between 9:21 a.m. and 11:55 a.m., the woman entered five more banks across four different cities in Salt Lake County. Every case was the same. She never covered her face and never showed a weapon.

“Passed a note to the teller demanding a bunch of money,” Lohrke said.

During Saturday’s first robbery attempt, at a Chase Bank in Salt Lake City, police believe she may have been spooked because she left before the teller had a chance to give her the money.

After that the woman went on roll. First she robbed a Wells Fargo in Holladay. Thirty minutes later she walked into a University Credit Union in Cottonwood Heights, and robbed it.

Forty minutes after that she robbed another Wells Fargo, this time in Sandy. Twenty-five minutes later, a Desert First Credit Union also in Sandy, was victimized. That’s four robberies in less than 90 minutes.

“Maybe she is out of town because she is not covering her face and hopefully somebody would have recognized her by now,” Lohrke said.

Police said they wouldn’t be surprised if this woman attempted even more robberies once banks reopen on Monday. They are urging anyone with any information to come forward.

“She is described as a white female in her 30s with dark hair in a pony-tail,” said Lohrke. “She was wearing prescription glasses and a noticeable mole under her right eye.”

Sandy police stated the suspect stands about 5-feet, 5-inches tall and has a medium build. She has brown hair that was pulled up into a bun.

In the Sandy robberies the suspect was wearing black glasses, a blue bandanna, a dark shirt and pajama bottoms.
