Two people injured in scaffolding collapse in downtown Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Two people were transported to area hospitals after some scaffolding collapsed at a construction site at 50 North Rio Grande Street, according to Salt Lake City police.

Sgt. Brandon Shearer said the scaffolding fell from the third floor of a building that is under construction.

One person suffered serious injuries, the other had minor injuries, Sgt. Shearer said.

There is no word yet on what caused the scaffolding to collapse.
