1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons sugar
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 small baguette, sliced to 1/4” slices
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
10-12 fresh basil leaves, torn
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
In a medium size saucepan, add balsamic vinegar. Bring up to a boil. Add sugar; reduce to medium heat. When mixture thickens and reduces, remove from heat. Let cool.
Spread a thin layer of cream cheese over each baguette slice. Spread out slices on a baking sheet. Bake for 4-5 minutes until baguette slices are toasted. Place tomato pieces and basil on top of softened cream cheese. Drizzle each baguette with balsamic reduction. Serve immediately.
