WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah - Police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting in West Valley City.

Lt. Amy Maurer says police were called to an apartment at 3251 south and 4140 west around one Saturday morning and found a man with a gunshot wound inside.

There was a bullet hole in a window at the apartment of the injured man.

Investigators don't have any specific information about a suspect, but neighbors say a small car was seen speeding away right after shots were fired.

"We've had officers in the neighborhood talking to neighbors and following up on some of the calls we received at dispatch," Lt. Maurer said, "We're asking anyone that knows anything just to call."

The gunshot victim was transported to a hospital in what police said was serious but stable condition.
