NORTH OGDEN, Utah —Authorities have identified a man killed in a three-car crash in North Ogden Tuesday afternoon as Gregory Jensen, 57, of North Ogden.

A woman was also injured in the accident.

According to North Ogden police, a preliminary investigation of the crash indicates a Jeep Cherokee turned left from 2300 N to go south on 400 E and struck a southbound Suzuki Sidekick. The driver of the Sidekick lost control and crossed into a center median, then rolled into northbound traffic and struck a Hyundai Sonata, a news release from North Ogden PD said.

The Suzuki came to rest on its right side and the Hyundai struck a tree, then came to a rest in a parking strip at 2284 N 400 E, the news release said.

Jensen, who was driving the Sidekick, was declared dead at the scene and the woman driving the Hyundai was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee was not injured and is cooperating with investigators, the news release said. Possible charges are pending the final outcome of the investigation, according to police.

The crash forced officials to close the northbound lanes of 400 E and traffic has been diverted onto 2175 N.
