LEHI, Utah — A former employee at a group home for people with disabilities is facing 30 charges relating to sexual assault after she allegedly abused two women under her care.

According to booking records, 19-year-old Karolyn Williams has been booked into jail on 10 counts each of forcible sodomy, object rape and forcible sexual abuse.

Det. Sgt. Jacob Enslen, Lehi Police Department, said two women, ages 19 and 27, living in the group home were having sexual relations. When Williams discovered this, she allegedly joined the pair. Enslen said both women have diminished mental capacities and have court-appointed legal guardians.

Williams began working at the group home in the spring of 2015, and the alleged assaults were reported in September of 2016. Williams was suspended from work at the group home when the accusations came to light.

Enslen said police first learned of the case through Adult Probation and Parole, and when they interviewed Williams Wednesday she allegedly admitted to the sexual abuse. Williams has no previous criminal history.

Williams was booked into the Utah County Jail on $100,000 bail.
